Melbourne Law Masters classes are located in the purpose-built Law School overlooking historic University Square. An entire floor of the School is dedicated to graduate teaching and features modern IT facilities and a comfortable student lounge. The Law Library, spread over three levels of the Law School, houses one of the best law collections in Australia.

The Law Library
The University’s Law Library has one of the best law collections in Australia. It is located in purpose-built surroundings with world-class library and computing facilities for teaching, learning and research.
The collections include approximately 180,000 printed volumes, the equivalent of around 30,000 volumes in microfiche or microfilm and a comprehensive collection of online databases.
Students can make full use of online electronic course materials, with online access to cases, selected legislation, journals and other secondary information sources.
These databases can be accessed from within the Law Library or from anywhere off-campus via the internet. From online journals and English legal cases dating back to AD 1220, to international trade treaties, legislation and case law from many common law and several Asian countries, the information you need is at your fingertips.
Graduate students have access to the following services:
- One-on-one research consultations with professional law librarians
- Skills seminars on how to best use electronic research sources
- Reserve collections of subject-related material
- Photocopying and study facilities
- Loans from other libraries in the University's network
- Over 100 desktop computers and borrowing access to a number of laptop computers
- Plug-in and wireless internet connectivity
- High-speed laser printers with a quota of 500 pages of free printing.

Local amenities
The Melbourne Law School is located on the city fringe, an easy 15-minute walk from the centre of the city or a short five-minute tram ride. Positioned right next to the inner-city suburb of Carlton, the campus is compact and beautifully landscaped with its 150-year history embodied in its architecture.
