Why did you choose to undertake a graduate degree in Law?
- To enhance my skills in banking and finance law in particular
- To complement my LLB and MBA
Why did you choose the Melbourne Law School?
- Of course it is the best law school, and has proven so.
- I am an ex-Melbourne university student, in education and public policy.
- The lecturers are excellent and the program is intellectually stimulating and challenging.
- The intensive mode is flexible for full-time employment
Describe your career pathway - what is your current role and how did you get to where you are?
- I am a lawyer at Birch Ross & Barlow lawyers, country mid-size firm in Victoria, and I practice mostly in commercial and corporate law.
- Prior to legal practice, I was a regulatory manager in an international telecommunications carrier in Melbourne and before that, economic consultant in the water industry in Victoria
Describe your experience of studying in the Melbourne Law Masters. What are the highlights?
The major highlights have been:
- Mingling with a diverse group of students; local and international.
- Enjoying state of the art research facilities and library services
- Taught by the best in their field whether from academia or private practice
What are you planning to do when you have completed your degree? Where do you think your degree will take you?
- Continue practising law
- Overseas may be, you never know
What advice do you have for others considering undertaking a graduate degree in Law at Melbourne?
My advice:
- Do it if you can and no regrets
- Plan it well because it can be demanding
- Choose subjects you will enjoy

- The library mainly, whose staff are supportive and excellent.
