Academic skills support
The Melbourne Law Masters program is pleased to provide a range of support options for students who wish to further develop their skills in English language, legal research or academic writing.
A dedicated Language and Academic Skills Adviser, Dr Anthony McCosker, provides individual consultations, and runs workshops, tutorials and seminars aimed at improving students' academic skills and English language proficiency. Details about consultations and classes and resources are below.
Along with the staff at the Law Library Melbourne Law School has a Legal Research Skills Adviser, Ms Natalie Wieland, who offers individual and group training in legal research skills. There's more information about how to make an appointment with Natalie.
Language and Learning Consultations
The Language and Academic Skills Adviser provides individual consultations for graduate students in the Law School. Consultations for graduate students aim to develop writing skills and provide strategies for study, time and task management. These consultations are available for all students wishing to improve their academic skills, and will be most beneficial for ESL and international students, and for students who do not have an undergraduate Law background.
Legal Research Skills Consultations
