Re-enrolling (2008-09 information)
- All Melbourne Law Masters students MUST re-enrol by 14 November 2008.
- If you intend to Transfer Courses (download an Application to transfer courses form .pdf) or take Leave of Absence (download an Application to take leave of absence .pdf), you must also submit the relevant forms by 14 November 2008. Forms are also available from the Melbourne Law Masters office. Please refer to Course Rules for information on Course Transfers and Leave of Absence.
- Please be aware that the University imposes fees and penalties for failing to re-enrol by the due date. As all subjects have a quota, you also risk not being able to get into your chosen subjects. Please ensure you submit a valid re-enrolment, application for leave of absence or application to transfer courses by the due date above to avoid penalty.
- To nominate your subject selection you should re-enrol online through the Student Portal. Online re-enrolment is available from 20 October to 14 November 2008. Should you have any difficulties submitting your subject choices online, you may submit the Re-enrolment Form 2009 (download the Re-enrolment form 2009 .pdf).
- Please also advise your emergency contact details and update personal and business address details as necessary via the ‘Admin’ tab on the Student Portal.

Please ensure that you read this information carefully. If you are at all uncertain about your subject selection, contact the Melbourne Law Masters Office before you re-enrol.
Prerequisites and Recommended Requirements
- Many subjects have prerequisites or recommended requirements that can be met by completion of appropriate subjects or equivalent relevant work experience or prior study.
- You should ensure you check any subject prerequisites and course requirements. If you are seeking a waiver of a prerequisite or need to demonstrate you have met a subject prerequisite, you should complete and submit an ‘Application for Waiver of Prerequisites' form (download an Application for Waiver of Prerequisites form .pdf) with your re-enrolment.
Student Responsibilities
- The online re-enrolment system will advise of some, but not all, subject and course requirements. It is important you also refer to the Melbourne Law Masters Handbook and the course and subject pages on this website to ensure you meet all requirements.
- Students should check that there are no clashes with class/assessment dates throughout the year.
Not complying with course and subject requirements does not constitute grounds for any form of special consideration or special assessment.
Approval of re-enrolment
- Re-enrolments will be checked and approved by a Faculty Course Adviser and may take up to two weeks to be processed.
- You will be notified via your University of Melbourne email account if your subject choices can be approved, or if amendments are required. To activate your email account or update your password, go to https://accounts.unimelb.edu.au. You will need your library barcode – please contact the Melbourne Law Masters Office to obtain this if required.
- Once you have received an email from the Melbourne Law Masters Office confirming the approval of your subjects, please check the information carefully and notify us immediately of any errors.
If you have submitted a re-enrolment and do not receive a confirmation email from the Melbourne Law Masters Office within two weeks, please contact us on (03) 8344 6190.
Fees
Please refer to your Student Portal (www.portal.unimelb.edu.au) for information on fee due dates. The University fee policy and other administrative arrangements regarding fees are available at www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/aust/fees/policy/index.html.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure fee payment deadlines are met. The University imposes fees and penalties (including the cancellation of a student’s enrolment) for failure to meet payment deadlines. Please check your Student Portal from 19 December 2008 to see when your fees are due.
